Robert M. Hall pushes interactive software development in unique directions. With nearly 30 years of experience in technology and software development, Robert is a master of many disciplines and multiple development stacks. Robert gravitates towards the intersection of art and science where he leverages his fine arts background and extensive technical expertise to deliver award winning projects for clients. Those projects span the gamut including: ATM machines, millimeter wave body scanners, self-service coin-counters, interactive exhibits, audio and video delivery, VR devices, gesture and multi-touch systems, advertising solutions and secure banking applications.
Robert is an independent software developer and consultant with extensive experience in on demand and live audio and video delivery via for desktop and mobile via Flash and the latests HTML5 standards. His work has been featured in multiple interactive exhibits and kiosks for experiential destinations in museums, interpretive centers and venues around the country. With a passion and interest for all things mobile, he also explores physical computing and human-computer interaction and software development for Apple iOS and Android platforms, with mobile development experience going back to Palm, Apple Newton, Pocket PC’s and previous generation devices.
Robert is a published author having contributed to six books on design and development and numerous online publication including Abobe’s DevNet. He has been a presenter at many industry conferences, including webinars in 2015 with the IAB and Yahoo on the topic of HTML5, a presenter at FlashForward in NY in 2001 and 2004, Macromedia MAX 2005 in Anaheim, CA and Adobe MAX 2006 in Las Vegas. He was a featured presenter and toured across the country as part of the PointRoll Innovation tour in 2014. Robert was also a regular speaker for over 12 years in his volunteer role as the manager of the Philadelphia Flash Platform Adobe User Group – http://www.pfpaug.org/ as well as assisting with other local user groups in the greater Philadelphia area, and is quite active in the community as an official Adobe Community Professional and Adobe Influencer. Robert has also served on multiple advisory boards for Macromedia and Adobe and his work has been featured in the Adobe Creative Suite.
In 2009 Robert successfully organized, funded and executed the Philadelphia Flash Camp 2009 event – http://flashcamp.pfpaug.org – the event featured 25 recognized industry expert speakers and took place at Philadelphia University Kanbar Campus Center. Attendance was well over 300 individuals from around the country and they were able to leverage a custom mobile web app Robert developed for the days agenda. Overall it was a resounding success.
